making a contribution

The Margaret Meyers Scholarship has been funded on an ongoing basis through a commitment made by friends of Margie who loved her dearly.

Margie touched many lives, and it is realized that others may wish to contribute to the scholarship as well. Additional donations could enable more scholarships to be awarded or increase the level of student support in the future.

other ways of honoring Margie's memory

Margie was a masterfully skilled organizer and planner, a defining characteristic that continued to the end of her days. As her life came to an end, she worked to ease the burden of grief for her family and friends by helping them make plans for her funeral Mass and other arrangements. At that time, Margie expressed a wish that, in lieu of flowers, her friends and loved ones might consider making contributions to Saint Peter Church of Westernport or the Divine Mercy Parish Adult Faith Formation program. Such contributions can make made through the Divine Mercy website, with more information at divinemercymd.org/giving/. These donations would honor Margie's lifelong vocation to service through the Catholic Church. It was in these spaces where Margie found, as she wrote in a 2003 article on the Liturgy, "a new place of being where I belonged totally."

A financial donation is but only one way to celebrate Margie's life. Give of your time, your energy, your skills, and your heart. Acts of kindness, empathy, and good will toward your fellow neighbors are all beautiful expressions of the values Margie treasured, and serve as reminders of the love and care she herself poured into the world.
